Izzy Pludwinski

Izzy Pludwinski is a Jerusalem-based professional calligrapher, Sofer STaM, and teacher. He is the author of Mastering Hebrew Calligraphy (Toby Press) and The Beauty of the Hebrew Letter (Brandeis University Press), both of which were finalists for the National Jewish Book Awards.

Calligraphy is Izzy’s passion. He has worked extensively in the Judaica world—collaborating with artists as well as creating original Ketubot, bringing the beauty of the Hebrew letter to life in both traditional and contemporary forms.

Izzy’s main creative pursuit is exploring new, expressive forms of the Hebrew letter—a distinctive style that expresses itself in his unique ketubah designs.
