Lotus Mandala – Layered
Art By Lori Loebelsohn
Description
The “mandala” was originally used as a symbol from Buddhist and Hindu religious traditions, but the mandala has since become a universal symbol in Western religions as well. The word “mandala” means circle and it has become a symbol of the spiritual universe. Carl Jung described the mandala as, “the psychological expression of the totality of the self”. Marriage is like a circle. This spiritual circle is a reminder that the couple changes throughout their lives, but are always spiritually connected. On a macrocosmic level, the mandala reminds us that we are part of a cycle that is bigger and grander than our individual selves
