Silhouette of a Daydream Papercut
Art By Melody Molayem
Description
This ketubah design originally started out as a doodle & then evolved into this combination of symbols ranging from hearts to a Jacob’s ladder which consists of 12 rungs, alluding to Jacob’s dream. It is not meant to be a technical design but rather a soulful, whimsical one that warms the heart. This is one of those artworks that comes straight from the subconscious without questioning the logic behind it. Other symbols are a key, Hamzas, florals, pomegranates, and lanterns.

Papercuts
Papercutting has been a traditional Jewish art form for Ketubah decoration since the Middle Ages. Thanks to advances in artisanal laser cutting in the late 20th century, these exquisite pieces of fine art are now within everyone’s budget. Papercut Ketubahs are lovingly produced, one at a time, to archival standards.
